Well, I never received any responses after the first week, except from a couple of folks who said they hadn't weighed. I was afraid the contest had died, but its still early and can be saved. Can we get a roll call on who is still in? Perhaps, if there are no objections, we can just start again. Everyone needs to invest in a scale, however.

Mark told me about this and I wanted to show my support! $5 huh? I'm a late starter but I'll join to support the cause. I'm 160 lbs. Do I just hold on to the money until we figure who wins?

Also, just from experience...daily pictures will probably be discouraging because from day to day you aren't going to see much transition. I recommend weekly or every other week to see more result, thus encouraging you more.

Also, I know some of you are intimidated by showing your weight, but the more you show the more accountable you are. Heck, we are all really good friends and we all know what each of us look like so who cares! Purely my opinion though so take it for what you will!

If you are looking for an excellent work out program that you can do at home - check out the Slim and Six tapes. They are pretty reasonable in price and you can do it more like slim and 12. The tapes come in 3 different levels - and it is a full body workout - that way it works at what level you are. Andrea loaned them to me at one point and they REALLY worked.

Then calorie-count.com is a great site if you are looking to track your calories (which is probably the healthiest way to lose way and alter your eating habits if you are looking into diet styles).

Anyway...Good luck all! I'm so excited! Do we have the 10/16 results?

Question:

Can we at least get a list of who all is participating - I know Quade, Dre, Del, Chains, Edge and Pooh - is that it? Is La doing it with you Quade? I've talked to KnocK a little about it...we'll see.

I'll update this as people send their crap in. If it remains a "?" that means that person has elected not to report their weight each month. This is the only week that will show just weight. The following weeks will show new weight and, % lost that week and total % lost.

You would have to factor in the body mass index or something like that. You would almost need the same person checking everybody to get an accurate reading. So for this contest, it's weight only. If one's muscle gain offsets the weight loss I gurantee you he/she won't care that he/she lost this contest.

The other thing to consider is how do you manage people that gain muscle during the process? You can conceivable shed the fat and still weight the same when you're done, b/c you exercised a lot to lose it, and got pretty buff.

That percentage is the percentage of pounds lost as a percentage of what you currently weigh...
So my fat ass weighs 340 -- if I lose 40 pounds, that's 11.7%. If you weigh 180, and lose 20 pounds, that's 11.1%. And 40 pounds will be easier for me to lose since I'll still be a shit-ton fatter than I need to be.

Okay, so it was too close to call by popular vote, luckily Pooh got the most electoral votes. We'll track biggest loser style and post weekly results. I liked Quades idea of the photos, although daily might be hard to pull off. Just do it as often as you can, min of weekly, max of daily.
