we have been playing through the "single" player together, but we don't have a set night since Jons schedual seems to very a bit.
I'm working on a mod right now that I would like a bunch of people to play at the same time, I think Mark and Jon are working on some as well but can't really speak for them.

Friday nights would mostly be bad for me since thats really the only night Jana has off from school but during the week pretty much any day is good; we all use Skype to talk while we play, it helps with not getting killed.

I have a bunch of the classic adventures in pdf format and am converting thoes to nwn2 mods, if anyone wants to try to build there own from one of these let me know and I can point you at the files...

so to recap. yes we can all play together, theres is no set night that I know of, and it would be fun to have a good sized party to go on homebrew adventures together...

I'll play. It'd have to be on Gabie's off nights or every Friday night is good too.

My dad does, but I'm playing the first one right now. I'll get back with you in a month or so. Maybe longer. Depends on how long it takes me to beat the first.

Speaking of our world that Nilrem brought up, I think we should try a go at it again when NWN2 comes out. Although this time we just make it for ourselves instead of trying to build for the masses. This time we make it just for us so we can run our own D&D games. Just have the world prebuilt then do like you guys are doing now with DDO. On certain nights a week we have a D&D game. Hell we can use my machine that I have at Marks place collecting dust now as the server. Because I think what we had built before was huge and pretty bad ass. I think we just got frustrated because we weren't seeing alot of traffic of different people in the game or whatever, but who cares about anybody else now. Just thought I'd throw that out. Wink

I realize that. Smile I just hope that it's a "timely" release and not 2 or 3 patches down the road.

I'm not saying it's not important, but you will have the tool set, so you can start building and the DM client will come. It will give us time to play the single version and get us used to the differences in the toolset. There only holding back so they can prefect it. Their only releasing it without it because there hand is forced by company dead lines... By the deadline the company has to start making money or the project could get canceled or become unsupported.

You're absolutely correct, Pooh. Like Chains said, without that aspect, it might as well be any other static rpg. I'll be honest and confess that I used that option next to never, but that doesn't mean I don't want to have the option.

I've never played with anyone else, but isn't the purpose of D&D to be able to make up your own adventures? I'm assuming the client allows you to alter things while the game is in progress. Am I right?

i agree saint. The whole selling point to NWN1 was the DM client. To me, without the DM client, it might as well be fable or any other RPG out there.

When I played in Exaria, one of my characters got to go on a very cool and personalized quest that wouldn't have happened if the game didn't have a DM client.

One of the big things that irks me about all this is that the DM client was such a big part of the hype for NWN1 and they are trying to hype NWN2 as best they can and let this little fact sink below the radar for much of the development and then let the cat out of the bag toward release.

I don't see why this is a problem, we rarely used the dmclient anyways. I think the only place I ever saw it used was in our persistent world, and even then not all that oftin...

I also like that buildings and the terrain don't have to be such a grid anymore.

That does look pretty, but after being kinda spoiled on DDO, I'd hate to have such a pretty environment if I couldn't swim in the water or climb around on the rocks, etc...
