Quote:
Well my time is about up. I should be on a convoy out of Iraq in around a week. I should spend just under two weeks in Kuwait and another week in Ft. Sill, OK. I hope to be home in time for Easter.

It has been a long year in Iraq. This isn't the most entertaining place on the globe. I wish I had written more and should have but I can honestlt say there wasn't much to tell. There have been a number of interesting incidents but my job doesn't allow for me to share the information while in theater. Maybe I will be able to share more with you in person after I get home.

I am very excited about coming home and have much I want to do and a lot I don't want to do. I could sit and eat a whole box of friuty pebbles, the cereal not the box, while I Sit in my recliner. Walk barefoot in GRASS. Catch trout and watch the sun go down behind Sugar Loaf Mountain on the Little Red River. I'd like to play catch with Brandon and take the girls to eat ice cream. I'd like to grill burgers and swat mosquitoes while an ice cream churn grinds in the background. I want to be able to have a quiet dinner with my wife and something to talk about.

I do not want to use a Porto Potty, sleep in a tent, or work the night shift. I do not want to wear the same clothes for a week or carry my gun to Wal-Mart to shop. I do not want to have to walk a mile to pick up my truck. I do not want to have to walk 300 meters to use the bathroom. I do not want to hear any loud booms or any light resonating thuds!

So feel free to call or come by in a month or so. Do not be surprised or embarassed if i am in my underwear or sweats in the chair with my mouth full and a lap full of kids. Don't be surprised if I am not at home and doing one of the above listed items or simply enjoying the freedom that life in America affords.

With Love
